Welcome to TechCodes' 2021 Virtual Summer Camp! A completely cost-free program that utilizes a peer-mentorship approach to introduce computer science to hundreds of students!
Over the summer of 2021, TechCodes launched CodeCamp, a virtual coding summer camp, to bring free computer science education to middle school students across the five NYC boroughs. This event was hosted from July 5th to July 16th, Monday to Friday from 12-2 PM. During this two-week period, 50 experienced high school students taught Python in beginner-intermediate courses to over 105 middle school students. While mentors honed their coding skills and gained professional volunteering experience (up to 30 volunteer hours were rewarded), students received quality tutoring lessons.
